The autodidact’s focus is on uninfluenced
experimentation with different elements and
their unconventional processing. In addition
to oil, fine acrylic, pigments and stone powder,
rust, stain or plaster is transferred to the
canvas and played with using brushes, sponges
and spatulas. The “directed coincidence”
creates meaningful, multi-layered works in the
truest sense of the word that allow for different
interpretations. By assigning neutral titles,
the viewer is encouraged to form a subjective
bond with the images, which are both calm and
emotionally strong.
